Waiting List Updates

The DHAA five (5) housing authorities periodically update and purge their waiting lists to keep applicant information current and to remove applicants who are no longer interested. Please be sure to periodically check your application to make sure your information is current. Applicants that do not respond to an update mailing will be removed from the waiting list. It is very important that your contact information, such as your mailing address, phone number, and email address, is always up to date.

Applicants that have not updated their application may be withdrawn from the waiting list if no update is received before the deadline stated on your letter.

How to Update your Application:

1. Applicants can update their applications online by visiting: www.affordablehousing.com/update.

You must create a new username and password to access your existing application.

2. Download a copy of the paper update form and mail it to the address listed on the update form or drop off at a participating housing authority office.

Update Process

· All applicants are encouraged to review your application at least once a year and update it as necessary when changes occur.

· If you do not update your application in over a year, you may be contacted by email and text message encouraging you to check on your application.

· On a yearly basis (current schedule below), applicants that have not updated their application in over one-year will receive a notification by email and text message with a deadline to complete an update. If no update is received after two weeks, a notification will be sent by USPS First Class Mail.

· Applicants who fail to respond to update their application by the deadline mentioned in their letter will be removed from the waiting list.

PLEASE NOTE: The application process and waiting lists are operated in partnership with AffordableHousing.com. Applicants will receive the requests to update their application from AffordableHousing.com (headquartered in Florida) on behalf of all five (5) participating housing authorities.

How do I know if I got an update letter?

· Online: After logging into your account, go to your manage application dashboard to see if an update is necessary. If you are unsure, please review your application and save any changes. This action will count as an update, eliminating the need for another update for the next year.

· Phone: Call AffordableHousing.com Customer Service at 855-301-5920 to inquire about your application status on the waiting list and whether you need to complete an update.

· Mail: Complete an update form and mail it back. Once we receive it, we will update your application. Please provide an email address to receive confirmation of your update.

What if your application was removed?

If your application was removed, you may be eligible to reinstate your application to the original date and time by completing a Reinstatement Request Form. If you fully complete this form and send it back as soon as possible, your application will be reviewed for reinstatement to the waiting list.

· In the meantime, you may submit a new application if the waiting list is open.

· If your reinstatement request is approved, your application will be updated to reflect the original date and time of submission.

· You will be notified by phone, email, or mail if your reinstatement request is approved and inform you once it has been completed.

· A reinstatement request may take up to one (1) month to process after it is received.
